FAQ

You've got questions. We've got answers.

What does the hair + makeup price include?

All of our hair service include prepping the hair, curling, styling the hair, and pinning. The price for an up style is the same as keeping all the hair down and styled. Hair needs to be dry and have some oil control at the roots. A blowout is available for an additional price, but must be discussed prior to the wedding day. Clip in extensions are available to order or rent for the wedding day for an additional fee. Extensions are highly recommend for half up/half down hairstyles.
Makeup services include basic skin prep, airbrush foundation, waterproofing, full face makeup, light contouring, and lashes (strips or individuals). Skin should be exfoliated, flake free, and clean with no makeup. Full contouring, high glam, and major color correcting is available for an upgraded fee. Please let us know in advance so we can accommodate your wishes in our wedding day timeline. Body makeup (like tattoo coverage, bruises, or body acne) is available for an additional fee and should be discussed prior to wedding day in order to adjust the wedding day timeline.

Your Big Day....and ONLY your big day

We give exclusivity to our Bobby Brides. B+B is there for you AND only you. No Rushing from wedding to wedding. Our focus is on you.

Why airbrush and what brand do you use?

Airbrush makeup is lightweight and long-lasting. It provides anywhere from light to full, max coverage. Airbrush makeup has a flawless finish that looks great in person and photographs beautifully. The fine mist blurs fine lines and minimizes the appearance of pores - leaving you with healthy, glowing skin. Airbrush makeup lasts longer than traditional makeup, perfect for your wedding day.

We use TEMPTU airbrush makeup. It is oil-free, paraben-free, noncomedogenic, and hypoallergenic. To learn more about TEMPTU’s makeup visit their website at: www.temptu.com

What's your education/training?

Education and training includes Salon 901 Beauty Coach with Riawna Capri and Nikki Lee, Makeup By Mario, Hair by Steph,  MG Hair and Makeup, two time Emmy winner Kevin James Bennet, plastic surgeon Dr. John Wright, Paul Mitchel Academy, and much more!

Should my hair be clean or dirty?

Beautiful, styled hair starts with a beautiful foundation. Hair can be (but doesn’t have to be!) washed that morning. I use products to give a textured base that will help grip and keep your style long-lasting. Roots need have some oil control. Super oily hair causes slick, limp hair and the style will not last throughout the day. Hair needs to be dry and tangle-free. A blowout on the morning is available for an additional fee, but has to be discussed prior to that morning.

What should I do to prepare for my wedding day?

Hair needs to be trimmed and freshly colored (if you color your hair) on your wedding day. Skin is the building block for bomb makeup. Hydrated, healthy skin glows. We cannot stress how important it is to take care of your skin leading up to your wedding day. Acne’s redness can be camouflaged, however the actual bump cannot. Drink lots of water leading up to the big day. Katie offers facials, treatments, and take home skin care. Brows should be waxed, plucked, or threaded before your wedding day.

What should I do for my makeup that morning?

Having clean skin the morning of your wedding is important. Wash and moisturize your skin like normal. We offer upgraded packages that include a gel facial sheet mask and eye mask for the wedding day. Let us know before that morning if you would like that package.

What time should we start?

The time we will start depends on how many services, the number of stylists, ceremony time, and if you are doing a first look. This will all be determined during the inquiry process with an estimated timeline + quote.  Most photographers like the bride putting her dress on at the venue two hours before the ceremony time and three hours before if there is a first look. Hair & makeup should be finished a little before this magic margin of time for that extra pop of highlight, touch up’s, staged getting ready photographs, and any bridal party robe/pajama party pictures. Trust us, it may seem early, but time flies that day and it is always better to be running early than feeling rushed. If you plan on getting ready somewhere other than the venue, you should accommodate travel time to the ceremony site. Additional stylists cut down on the hair & makeup time but may have an added fee.

We will create a glam schedule for your wedding day.  We ask for anyone receiving services be onsite 30 minutes prior to their appointment time. Anyone who is late may have to forfeit their service and could still be charged.

Does the whole bridal party have to get hair and/or makeup?

No.  We offer bride only packages. However, we strongly encourage it. It creates a seamless look for pictures.

Is there a minimum for onsite services?

We require a 5 service minimum to travel onsite. Less than 5 services will have a set up and clean up fee.  We also offer bridal parties the option to come to us at the salon for hair & makeup. If interested, please inquire.

How is payment done?

We require the wedding day total to be paid in full 2 weeks before the wedding day. Payment plans are available….just ask!

What makeup brands do you use?

We pick and choose from allllllll the brands. Specifically, we use TEMPTU’s airbrush system. It's our favorite from luxury lines to drugstore brands.

When should I schedule my trial?

It's best to have your trial about 4-8 weeks out from your wedding date. It is better to schedule your trial sooner rather than later. We do not offer weekend trial dates since we are busy with weddings.

Will I still look like me?

Yes! Our goal is for you to look your best and feel your best. Whether you are a natural girl or a Kylie Jenner, we’ve got your back.

How do i book Blush & bobbys?

It's simple! Fill out the form on our "book us" page. After we review your questionnaire, we will send you an estimated timeline and quote for your wedding day. If you like what you see, then a proposal and agreement will be written up.

The agreement will include a payment plan. The wedding day proposal must include the hair & makeup service total. After signing, services can be added but they cannot be taken away from the agreement. The wedding day total is due 2 weeks before the wedding day. The wedding total is able to be broken down in payment plans. The proposal & agreement is signed with an $85 deposit. The deposit can go toward trial or wedding day total.

Once all of the paperwork is signed, we schedule your trial and create a wedding day schedule. That's when the fun begins!
